Ceremony Venue

Did you know: Kurt Vonnegut's father, Kurt Vonnegut, Sr., was an architect in Indianapolis.  He was actually one of the two designers of the building where my ceremony is being held.  It's beautiful!  Plus, Hilton did a restoration about five years ago, so it's back to its art deco glory.

I have no idea who designed the interior of the reception venue, but it's equally as stunning.  It's warm and inviting even though it is in a huge open space.

Ceremony Decor

We have a bamboo chuppah (Sometimes Craigslist pulls through!) that will be decorated with sheers and flowers, and we have pomanders in berry, burgandy, plum, and ivory.  Below are some ideas of what to do with each.

I have a new favorite!  It's the first pic in the first row and was from a featured wedding on theknot.  Instead of the topiaries on either side, though, we would hang our pomanders from the ceiling at varying heights with organza ribbon.  Also, I think we'd still use uplighting but probably place it behind the sheer at the back of the chuppah.

My former favorite is the middle chuppah in the first row from knottie star156789's wedding.
